Urth Agriculture’s microbial products increase forage production and quality, and have also proven effective in reducing lagoon odors and accelerating/increasing composting to create a high quality slurry, improving the farmer’s bottom line.
Urth Agriculture is working with many of the largest growers and dairies to increase productivity and quality while decreasing input costs to positively affect the bottom line. Urth offers a suite of organic microbial fertilizer and agricultural products that are yielding unprecedented benefits across a broad spectrum of crops, including forage.
The same products have also proven successful in treating manure pits, decreasing odors and providing better quality slurry.
Lew will explain how Urth Agriculture products function by re-introducing and activating microbes in the soil, making nutrients bio-available. This allows plants to uptake what they need when they need it. The microbial action improves soil fertility and begins the process of bringing soil back to its natural balance. Urth-treated Alfalfa has shown increases in Relative Feed Value and proteins, while improving digestibility and the quality of manure procured for fertilization.
In the case of manure pit remediation, the microbes break down the naturally-occurring elements, reducing the amount of solids and accelerating/increasing composting to create a high quality slurry. Odor is neutralized through decreases in ammonium and sulfur. Additionally, decreases in phosphorus, significant reduction in soluble salts, and decreases in sulfur reduce regulatory issues. The conversion of nitrogen to a more stable for creates a more balanced soil environment for forage.
